The Art Of Living Course

Developed by the founder of The Art of Living Foundation, these courses offer simple and effective techniques for eliminating stress, resolving conflict thus improving health and living life with new joy and enthusiasm - A combination of the very best of ancient wisdom and modern science.

The Art of Living courses offer simple but effective techniques, which eliminate toxins, and stresses that accumulate in our systems over time. They are a unique way to harmonize and energize the Body, Breath, Mind, and Emotions & Spirit.

The course is done in two parts.

The first part is simple exercises aimed at relaxation, rejuvenation & improved circulation. The Course incorporates practical wisdom, ancient spiritual knowledge and health practices to increase l the physical, mental, and emotional well being of an individual.

The Sudarshan Kriya is a powerful technique that purifies and rejuvenates both the mind and body. It is known to have beneficial effects on the physiology, nervous system, endocrine system and the immune system.

Part two of the course is about true relaxation. It's more about practice than learning. It includes a combination of

Silence" takes you deeper into yourself

Sadhana" (Meditation), builds Energy

Satsang" (Group Prayer), Supports and maintains it

Seva" (Service), Energy is channelised into service for others

Sudarshan Kriya:The Sudarshan Kriya uses specific rhythms of breath to re-establish balance in life as it simultaneously floods the cells of the body with oxygen and energy. The Kriya links the breath to the mind-body system in a specific way, that rids the system of accumulated stress and toxins, releasing negative emotions and rejuvenating the body. It also helps the individual in the following ways:
  • Reduce levels of stress
  • Reduce cholesterol
  • Relieve anxiety and depression (mild, moderate and severe)
  • Increase anti oxidant protection
  • Enhanced brain function (increased mental focus and recovery from stressful stimuli)
  • Enhance health and well-being

These simple, yet powerful breathing practices have a unique advantage over many other forms of treatment: they are free from unwanted side-effects, cut health care costs, and are easy to learn and practice in daily life.

The Research Centre

The Art of Living International Research and Health Promotion Centre aims to promote timely and scholarly investigation of the Sudarshan Kriya and related practices as they relate to physical, social, and emotional wellbeing.

Vipassana Centres
The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential course during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results.

There are no charges for the courses - not even to cover the cost of food and accommodation. All expenses are met by donations from the people who, having completed a course and experienced the benefits of Vipassana, wish to give others the opportunity to also benefit.
